Amanda Blake
Amanda Blake was an American actress, who was featured in a variety of films and television series. Most famous for her performance in the character of Kitty Russell in the TV series "Gunsmoke", Kitty Russell from the TV show "Gunsmoke" and was also an incredibly popular American actor. Besides this it was her first time acting in the television series such as 'The Red Skelton Show', "Tattletales," and "The Edge of Night'. Also, she appeared in hundreds of films like 'Stars In My Crown' 'Duchess Idaho', 'Cattle Town', 'Miss Robinson Crusoe'as well as 'About Mrs. Leslie and 'The Adventures Of Hajji Baba', 'High Society' and 'The Boom'. Blake had been employed as a phone operator she was an animal lover. Her husband Frank Gilbert and she were among the first to breed successfully Cheetahs. She was one of co-founders along with Frank Gilbert, her husband of the Arizona Animal Welfare League. Blake was also a chairman of the board of Humane Society of the United States. Talking about the honours Blake was awarded and was inducted into the Hall of Great Western Performers from the National Cowboy & Western Heritage Museum. She was also awarded with a 'Courage Award' by the American Cancer Society.
