Lee Roy Selmon's story combines football scholarships for his parents and a commitment to his community. His family's first name is Selmon is the eldest of nine kids who were raised within Eufala with Lucious Selmon. Two football. He is one of three brothers who participated in the football team of Oklahoma. All three were All-Americans. Lucious Jr. Dewey, Lee Roy, and Lucious Jr. Dewey started the 1973 season. Lee Roy has won both the Outland Award as well as the Lombardi Award as the best lineman in the country. In his three years as an offensive lineman, Oklahoma was 32-1-1 and also won two championships at the national level. Third scholarship he was named a National Football Foundation Scholar-Athlete in 1975. Selmon received a diploma as a teacher. Lee Roy was involved in voluntary work for 10 hours a week while he attended college. After graduation, he landed in Tampa playing nine years for the Buccaneers was the all-pro 3 times, and began a business career. He was an Account Relations Officer for Tampa's First Florida Bank and worked on the following groups: Special Olympics Easter Seals Baptist Church Ronald McDonald House United Negro College Fund South Florida Institute on the Black Life Hall of Fame Bowl Committee. There was no doubt that the year 1982 was when The Junior Chamber of Commerce named Lee Roy as one of the 10 young stars across the nation. When he was a student Lee Roy was 6-2 and was weighing 256 pounds. He captained his college team in the year 1975. In 1993, he became the assistant director of the University of South Florida. He was inducted into the College Football Hall of Fame since 1988. In 1989 the Oklahoma City Chapter National Football Foundation awarded the Distinguished American Award, to Mr. Lucious Selmon and his wife. Henry Bellmon was the Oklahoma Governor, who awarded this award.
