Fawn Mckay

Fawn McKay was born in Ogden Utah on September 15 1915. Fawn MCKAY, brought up in the Mormon First Family of the Church employed her creative talents and expertise in research to write the intriguing biographical psycho-historical study of Joseph Smith. Published in 1945 under the title No Man knows My History, she used both. The title derives from the funeral sermon given by Joseph Smith, founder of The Church of Latter-Day Saints. His audience was shocked by his telling his audience: "You don't even know my name. It's been a long time since you've seen my heart." My life story isn't known to any one. It is not possible for me to reveal it. Writes the 29-year-old Fawn after the moment when he spoke, about three dozen writers have taken up the gauntlet. Many have deified and even abused him, while others have tried to pinpoint the issue. The problem isn't the case that there's not enough documentation but rather they are wildly divergent. The task of assembling the various documents, separating personal accounts from second-hand plagiarism and fitting Mormon and non-Mormon narratives into an assemblage that is credible the history. This is exciting as well as educational. FawnBrodie was able to take on the task of professional success. Her research and writings brought fame throughout the world: Thaddeus Stephens. Scourge of the Southern (1959) The Devil Drives. The Story of Sir Richard Burton (1967) Thomas Jefferson. The intimate Histories (1974) The Life of Sir Richard Burton (1974) and Richard Nixon.
