Lisa Edelstein was an American actress who is best known as the star of Fox's House medical series. She grew up in Wayne and was raised in a strict Jewish tradition. At the age of 18, she moved into New York City to study at the Tisch School of the Arts. The school quickly became a fixture in the New York club scene. The performances she gave were so captivating that the local press noticed. Her experience and fame along with her personal training to both write and host a television show titled Positive Me. Her first gig was with MTV as the host of Awake on the Wild Side shortly after. After the show ended the show, she began appearing on films and television productions beginning with small parts, but gradually establishing herself as an actor.
